Prolife Fitness Centre

The third gym I have tried is Prolife Fitness Centre Paisley. This gym is another non-chain gym however I would say it is slightly more commercialised then the last two and doesn’t have the same sense of community. The staff are really helpful and wear branded t-shirts making them easy to identify. The gym is split into sections, the main gym floor up and downstairs, spin room, a leg room, cafĂ© and spa.   This gym is the biggest one I have been to size wise with so many machines. The good thing about this is it means there is multiple of the same machine in some cases. The gym also has at least 5 sets of cables which can be adapted to hit many different muscle groups which means little to no waiting for a machine. However, it is quite cramped together and therefore you are very close to the people next to you, which I could see being overwhelming at peak times. The only other downside to the gym being this size is that plates can be extremely hard to find as there seems to...

Irving's Peak Performance Gym

The second gym I tried was Irving’s Peak performance gym. This gym is located in Hamilton and is another privately owned gym. I sometimes feel privately owned gyms are better than commercial gyms in terms of comfortability due fact that there is more of a sense of community. Ross (the owner) is also extremely welcoming and invested creating a great atmosphere, I felt if I had any questions about equipment, I could ask him or any of the other coaches who all wear branded t-shirts making them easy to identify for help and they would be more than willing to. This gym is a little bit smaller than JPs but due it being all in one room it is very easy to navigate and find your way around. I also found it to be pretty quiet and that meant there was no waiting for equipment. This gym also has some great pieces of kit with a load of glute machines especially. Everyone within the gym was so respectful of each other’s space and I felt fully comfortable to complete my full workout without a...

JPs Gym Coatbridge

Hey gals, I have a new love for the gym but I used to have mega gym anxiety and until I found a gym that made me really comfortable, I didn’t enjoy going. But for the past year I have found my place and thought why not help other anxious gals, by giving gym reviews that aren't necessarily about the equipment but about the space as a whole.   The first gym I’m going to review is my own personal gym, JPs gym in Coatbridge. This gym does have a close place in my heart due to being the gym that got me out of my fear. It’s an amazing place with so many incredible pieces of equipment with JP (the owner) constantly adding new pieces to better the gym. This gym makes you feel so comfortable from the moment you enter, due to having an owner who really invests in his members and a   great team of coaches who are all so welcoming and willing to help any member with questions. It also has a great atmosphere with nobody judging as everyone is just there to get their own g...
