Irving's Peak Performance Gym

The second gym I tried was Irving’s Peak performance gym. This gym is located in Hamilton and is another privately owned gym. I sometimes feel privately owned gyms are better than commercial gyms in terms of comfortability due fact that there is more of a sense of community. Ross (the owner) is also extremely welcoming and invested creating a great atmosphere, I felt if I had any questions about equipment, I could ask him or any of the other coaches who all wear branded t-shirts making them easy to identify for help and they would be more than willing to.

This gym is a little bit smaller than JPs but due it being all in one room it is very easy to navigate and find your way around. I also found it to be pretty quiet and that meant there was no waiting for equipment. This gym also has some great pieces of kit with a load of glute machines especially. Everyone within the gym was so respectful of each other’s space and I felt fully comfortable to complete my full workout without any judgement.

It also does many different workshops on different things, including PT workshops, female workshops ect. These would be extremely helpful to those looking to get more into the fitness world and allows PTs and coaches to further their knowledge.

The huge plus of this gym excluding the atmosphere and equipment is the fact it sells Pinch of Taste bars which are the best sweet treat after your workout. They literally taste like cake and are full of protein. There's also a massive car park across the road which is a 10/10 from me.

It costs £10 for a day pass, £25 for a weekly pass and £35 monthly, which is the same price I pay for my local gym. Overall I’d give this gym a 9/10 as it did make me feel extremely comfortable however due to being slightly smaller than JPs I could see it being overwhelming at peak busy times.

JPs Gym Coatbridge

Hey gals, I have a new love for the gym but I used to have mega gym anxiety and until I found a gym that made me really comfortable, I didn’t enjoy going. But for the past year I have found my place and thought why not help other anxious gals, by giving gym reviews that aren't necessarily about the equipment but about the space as a whole.   The first gym I’m going to review is my own personal gym, JPs gym in Coatbridge. This gym does have a close place in my heart due to being the gym that got me out of my fear. It’s an amazing place with so many incredible pieces of equipment with JP (the owner) constantly adding new pieces to better the gym. This gym makes you feel so comfortable from the moment you enter, due to having an owner who really invests in his members and a   great team of coaches who are all so welcoming and willing to help any member with questions. It also has a great atmosphere with nobody judging as everyone is just there to get their own g...

JD Gym

The next gym I have visited is JD gym Coatbridge https://www.jdgyms.co.uk/gym/coatbridge/. This is the first commercial gym I have visited and while the staff were still extremely friendly there was a big difference in terms of the sense of community within the gym. In all of the privately owned gyms I’ve been to there are always people chatting to each other and having catch ups whereas here it seemed more like everyone was just there to workout so it depends what you prefer I guess. The gym operates on a QR code system where you scan at the gate to gain entrance which seems like a fine system however once you scan out you cant come back in straight away, meaning if you leave something in your car you cant go get it which I didn’t love. This gym looks huge from the outside however I would say it does feel smaller once you are in it but that is probably just my unrealistic expectation of how big it was going to be because it is actually still massive, the machines are we...
